A Message From Ian Bell Regarding The Launch Issues

Dave was quite disingenuous with the game from the start. He had quite a big Twitter blowback because he posted insinuating that they removed his key for criticising the game.

Obviously not true and it was the FDP key that was removed (as it was with everyone involved) but you could tell he was pushing for the negative engagement immediately so I'm not surprised to see that continue.

Tweets were deleted but some remnants still about.

That's why if I want to watch someone playing I prefer relatively small channels where ppl just enjoy simracing and doing YT just for themselves. When somehow it gets big it become just another useless media project with all these drama social media and zero value

Personally, I never pay much attention to any streamers who have made their name by showcasing one single game and/or are affiliated to anything related to sim racing. I've always felt that under those circumstances, biases can cloud their opinions and judgement.. whether deliberately or subconsciously.

but I really don't understand how you can release a game with serious problems
Just gonna throw this out there..
Unfortunately, sometimes people can be forced or pressured to release something that's not quite ready yet. Cause no one wants to release an unfinished product.

I don´t need Broadbents or GT´s or tons of other "exhibitions" on the internet to form my own opinion (decision making). Fortunately: I come from REV era on a C-64. I live a peaceful, happy life with my lovely wife and son and I do not regret my PC1, PC2 and PMR purchase. I´m getting old, so I´m patient and more importantly: I trust people, I see improvements... "Content creator? WTF? What are these people? No one in my industry knows them... Is that a new profession already? NO WAY.

BTW: Tons of issues in many different areas? Hell yes. One example: The FF dynamic (tyres, susp / vibrations) in the 1.6.0.0 is "somehow toned down", don´t know why, the grip "ff interpretation" is a bit weird now (PS5, TGT-II, PS5), but time will tell... For my part: PMR is a bit challenging piece of software for the devs and end-customers alike, but tons of "hidden tech. innovations" makes the PMR a welcome addition in my !gaming! library.
Seems to be a new job title that popped up overnight.. There are some genuine decent content creators out there who do things properly (IWrocker is a favourite youtuber of mine), but a lot of them just want to be paid a premium for uploading their videos to youtube, while looking for popularity any way they can.

Because they seem to think popularity is important..

I call them SIM snobs.
They get most of their stuff for free.
And yet they still complain. Prima donnas..

I think it's rather unfair to say that the same game has been in development since 2023.. S4 made the decision to switch to the GIANTS Engine instead of Unreal on which the game was originally developed. I'm sure this relatively recent change has caused a lot of upheaval and presented the team with a plethora of challenges that were probably unseen or unexpected.

Personally, I'm looking forward to what the future holds as the studio become better acquainted with the nuances of the GIANTS Engine and unleash the full potential of the Hadron physics engine and, hopefully, further optimisations and streamlining on all platforms.
I'm wondering how the game would be right now, if S4 had decided to stick with the Unreal engine, instead of switching to GIANTS.

I would recommend to leave the Dave Cam stuff alone. If the devs believe there is anything useful in his videos, they will work on it. If they don't, they won't. Everyone has an opinion. Some opinions do carry more weight than others but at the end of the day, it comes down to what the devs want and can do with what we have today.

Cause no one wants to release an unfinished product.I risk your danger, however, if you have to release a niche product with that price it must already be well finished and with all the things fixed, if instead you release that game with problems that does not respect what was promised, people are right to complain and you have to listen to what they advise you, after all they wanted us players as testers..

ignore the digital hobos.. if your life skill amounts to moaning to idiots for a living, OnlyFans is a better platform.

Back onto important things.. any indication as to when the promised triple screen will be arriving?
I've not heard of any progress as yet, sorry.

I find myself asking what PMR offers and does better than other sims as my time for sim racing is limited each week and im struggling if im honest to give it any time. I dont regret my purchase as I got it for circa £20 so Its worth it to check in now and again same as AC Evo. Going to be hard to get me away from LMU and AMS2 though as they between them cover all bases.

Each person is going to like what they want. People click with certain sims and not others. There is no harm in "liking something different".

I didn't realize that Ian Bell paid salaries of 75 people out of his own pocket for the first year of PMR development (public info - YouTube). That tells a lot, respect! Making games is super complex, it's a huge investment of time, money and requires a lot of mental strenght.

And without GIANTS Software support we probably would not have this game today.

Customers have every right to complain and I can promise you that the team listen to every concern, complaint and reasonable feedback and take them onboard to help improve the situation moving forward.

Good to know (y)

thats business.
If you start a project/company you either have to find money from investors ( their own money ) or you go to a bank for credit ( have to be paid back, so own money in some way ) or you have enough on your bank account.
Money doesn't com from somewhere ;)
You cannot start w/o having enough power in the back, so someone definitely has to pay

The Codies acquisition of SMS probably bankrolled the PMR project im guessing or the EA buyout of Codies.

How do I unlock the Japanese GT 500 pack? I have the season pass but on PMR the cars are locked & the DLC isn't showing up in the DLC page on my screen?
