Crash and flashbulbs

After a replay, it went to the pit. Then there was a crash. After restarting the game, there were flashes of light in the on-board view. You can see this in the video from 1:49. At the end, you can see the graphics settings.

Looks like the Screen Space Reflections, set them to High, Ultra or OFF and the issue should be gone. It's an issue that seems to occur mostly with the Nvidia cards.SSR.jpg

It's still there, no matter what I set it to. TAA, DLSS, High, or Ultra. It keeps coming back. Video from 02:33. Race 60 percent AI. Even with hood view

01:40 graphics setup

I am new, really new, but I wanted to say I noticed the flashes as well when paused and on track. They seem to be the same as you get from the headlights of the cars as they go buy.

Try this if possible, go to Documents > My Games > ProjectMotorRacing > savegame1
Within that folder there's a file called settings.xml , delete this file. Then go back to the previous folder ProjectMotorRacing and delete the shader_cache folder.
Launch the game after this, adjust only the volume settings if needed and assists, but do not touch the graphic settings yet and go into the same race conditions as in the video above. See if it is still happening.
Note: There will be a lot of stuttering for about 30 seconds after loading into the session, it should disappear after.

I figured out that it could shadows option that produces this artifact under certain lighting conditions. will drop a video shortly

I have already reinstalled the game three times without any improvement. However, I noticed that it only happens when I have been playing for more than two hours. It happens on every track: Nordschleife, Spa, etc. I think it's a cache problem or something like that. When I disable reflections, it's even worse. When I set it to DLAA, it disappears, but I have a notebook with RTX 4070 and actually no DLAA.

It's not the shadows. I tried it out and it happens even when I play for a short time. You can also see that DLSS has some issues when you look at the asphalt. TAA runs without any problems. I'll be live on Twitch in a moment and will save the video there for 7 days. I'll drive with DLSS first and then with TAA. Pay attention to the asphalt.

Here you go. Training and later race AI 50 percent. It can't get any faster than that. In the middle of the race, the car changes dramatically even though there's no reason for it. I can hardly get through the corners like I did before. I'm speechless.

Obviously DLSS will have artifacts (especially on fast moving objects like tarmac during the race) as it's artificial upscaling method.
As for flashes - check my video.
I never used cloud shadows and never had those flashes. I enabled cloud shadows and run a race using 9:00 morning daytime at Derby and got flashes instantly. Disabled cloud shadows and never got the flashes again. It's all on the video

I believe you. But it's not like that for me. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it just comes. I've tried everything but without success. It could be something to do with the car setup. I drive with very hard springs. No idea.

I noticed this issue on my RTX 4080S, 595.71 drivers, game v1.7.0.0. No only are there flashes as shown in the video a few posts above, but on Bathurst the track rendering was also corrupted with shifting colors in some places. Also the rendering of the cockpit of the new Ford V8 car was messed up. Setting "Screen Space Reflections" to "off" fixes (or rather work-around) it. Any other setting (even "Medium") causes it.
I tried clearing the shader cache but it did not help.

I have reverted to 591.86 drivers and it does not have this issue. Anyway 595.71 has been problematic for a lot of people in a variety of games, so I suppose it is one more thing where it fails.

I installed 595.71. I had problems before, too. But now I have other problems with light.

I went back to 581.83. Let's see what happens.

Update: So no problems so far. It could really be the Nvidia driver's fault. I have now installed driver 581.83, which you can get from Windows Update. So far, it's running without any problems.

I wonder if nVidia can give some love to PMR (or GIANTS graphics engine generally). I constantly see optimizations for different games in their patch notes and always hope to PMR there :)

The Nvidia app shows the game, but I can't optimize it there like I can with other games. No idea why. Maybe they want to see some cash. No clue. I also think DLSS is a problem for many games. It keeps changing. Too many bells and whistles if you ask me. Ray tracing is another one of those things. It costs too much power. Games can look great even without ray tracing. Some things are over the top in my opinion.
