Giants Editor?

Made a new tool today to create power poles. OSM data can of course be used if they have it, instead of drawing a custom curve.

Our team is already working on grandstand structures and scenery for the known circuits :) There's going to be some great content for this game!
I'm not sure I'm familiar with your group, but kudos to you for getting going before we even have the game! 😅

It's getting closer to launch, and I am eagerly waiting for more information regarding editor/map/track editor.
Has anyone seen any news about any of this yet?

Is it possible to import something in GIANTS at the moment?
Want to check some cars, look kind stylish
If you have access to both games all you got to do is try.

I can't tell though, as I don't have the game.

What I gather from a reply early in the thread is they are using a custom branch of the editor so things may not load in the original editor.

All speculation, I have no facts, but wouldn't be surprised if it is so.

The modhub only hosts mods, and is separate from the editor itself which is run locally.

I wish we had more info about the editor, making mods and tracks/maps though. We're literally in the blind still, so short time from release.

Kevin B said in one of the interviews from the Sim Race Expo that they use blender for the 3D models to make it easy to mod down the line, so you could get started on the 3D stuff at least. If you're stuck for ideas, a 1950s F1 car would be a good start.

nah, everytime it gives me smth like "No anchor points" or "Mesh missing".
I think it is still in WIP-Stage

Yeah, I have some experience (hope so 😊), and already thinking about importing something in the game, because overall graphics quality is awesome.

In GIANTS editor I wanted to look at the quality of 3d models and textures, because many of them have some little imperfections that are easily noticable, such as roughness, texture resolution, scaling and so on.

(And I would really like to contribute to the creation of cars for future updates 🙂)

I am looking forward to seeing what the 'mods' and Giants editor can bring to the game. For example would it allow a fictional realistic point to point road track with road cars or even a fast wide road track mixed in with a dirt road or city. Or am I wishing too much and this game will stick to racing circuits at it's core?

Also could there be a wish list for ideas for the creators to give them some projects or enthusiasm as I know from experience this would help spark their creativity. I would really like to learn 3d modelling as I have some creative ideas so will be following this thread and tutorials.

If you want to get into 3d modelling, my best advice is to download Blender (it's free! Yay! 🥳), and learn/teach yourself to use it. People use to say Blender was difficult to use, and it was a little bit when i first got it. Default control scheme felt like it was set up for a left handed mouse config. But you could change that in the setup menus. Current versions of Blender are much more user friendly.
There's thousands of Blender tutorials on Youtube, ranging from beginner basics to real advanced stuff. So you can easily find what you're looking for. Plus there's also loads of resources out there that will work in it. Textures, PBR materials, HDRI's and skyboxes, complete models etc.
And it's a much better program for modelling than SketchUp.

I'm sure someone out there could likely make a fictional point to point mod road course happen.

Thank you @Womp83 This is very helpful, I will download it and start some tutorials once I get my PC all set up. A nice winter project for me. (y)

Haha, yeah I'm really looking forward to passing farms and fields faster than one normally is allowed to.
I have just about completed my first map for Farming Sim 25, sadly it is not large enough to cover enough land to make a complete circle. But seeing all the tracks in the game I can only guess we can cover some seriously large areas, in which case I can make the map I need with several track options. Long, short, hillclimb, dirt and asphalt.

If PMR allows for point to point races, there's even more options in the same map!
Below are two screenshots of my map, this is only 2x2km. The full map would be 8x8km.

If possible I could go even larger.

I literally cannot wait to get the editor on my hands and dig in, see how things work, compare to how things are done in FS and get cracking.
