Look I've Just Made..

Following John in reviving one of his old favourite threads I thought I'd take the initiative and start one of my old favs.

It's nothing amazing, but I've modelled and 3D printed this little lens board to adapt the pictured lens to my Graflex Anniversary Speed Graphic camera.
The lens design is from around 1880 but the lens itself is likely newer, I'd guess 1895 to 1910s (it has an iris aperture already, not waterhouse stops) but I can't really tell because no traces of the maker doesn't exist on the web (R.W. Maillard, Whitley Bay).

Edit: Creating and seeing these threads again feels a bit like decorating a new home :D

When are you going to show the brass plaque you're making for a certain framed poster and car?

Yes, that really does read 2022.. Also the top corner looks very bent. it's not very bent. just a tiny little.
I had some post today .....

For context, I took some screenshots for Slightly Mad Studios, back in the WMD2 days, with the vague pretext that it might get used as boxart for a Hot Wheels car. I did what I normally do, took about 30 shots (sorry, not sorry :D ), posted a link to the folder and got on with my day. That was July 2018. Fast forward to 2022 and somebody on the pCARS Discord posted about the Hot Wheels pCARS2 cars and I saw the Accura picture on the box and I thought "hold on, that looks familiar". And for good reason, it was indeed one of my shots, there on the boxart.

"HOLY CRAP, I TOOK THAT SHOT!" I shouted to an empty house

My heart was beating so fast. I leapt onto the bay of e and found one of the cars for sale and bought it. I got the poster printed out and ordered a frame for it all to sit in nicely. And then I jokingly mentioned to a small group of friends, that includes Topsy, that it would be cool to have a plaque in there. Topsy obliged and today it has been installed into its proper place and the story is complete.

I am indeed VERY proud of this shit!

But also, I am still deeply honoured and indebted to the old SMS team for picking this shot and having it immortalised in a real thing. It will forever hang in my gaming room, alongside the pCARS1 special edition steelbook, reminders of some truly awesome years of my life and of so many friends made, people that engrave a piece of brass and post it to some idiot with a chicken as an avatar.

Thanks Topsy, you have no idea how much this little piece of brass means to me 🥰

As a pastry chef I make a lot of things, lol. (What is the max size for uploading Images? I constantly get an oeps too large error.)

Neither do I but with an image link it will work as well. :D👍🤜
Started with AI, is a lot better for my health than real life pastry. lol.

I guess i can post these in here.. It's not all my handiwork, but i am quite involved with this project.
Myself, my boss, and some builders & contractors are currently in the process of setting up a new studio space for us to work in. We had to move out of our old studio towards the end of 2021, as the rent got too high.
Anyway, This is our new space under construction. It's going to be a combined photo & video studio. Project itself has dragged on for a number of years now and we were about to walk away from it due to it stagnating, but things started to happen in January this year. Then it went quiet for a few months. Then just recently made some noise again.. Here's some photos of the noise.

Section of floor that was repaired to remove a hole, then repaired again after one of the workers accidentally drove the scissor lift through it.. And made another hole.
Pro Tip #7: Yellow Tongue panels/sheets don't support a huge amount of weight.

Shot from inside the booth. We'll be having an infinity wall installed in the corner where those lights are hanging. Those are our general area room lights, nice LED lights the size of a dinner plate. We'll have proper fancy studio lights hanging from trusses later on, that will be controlled from the lighting desk. They'll move and change colour, strobe, UV, do gobos & patterns, all that fancy shit.

I can post more photos in here as work progresses, if people want to see more. We're hoping to have the place up and running by the start of next year.
