Wanted to post some more stuff in here, but i'd kinda run out of decent photos to share, lol.
However, i found these in a folder on my desktop and thought i'd share them.

From an event the boss and myself did back in 2022. We'd been asked to provide live music for an Australia Day function that was happening. So he organised 3 girls who have done some recording with us in the past to come along and perform. I was on audio duty, which was a first for me. As i'd never really played around with an audio mixing desk before. Had to have a quick crash course in what to do before we started. I was basically just tweaking levels till it sounded nice.
We were meant to just do the one day, but the event organisers liked what we did, and asked us to stay for the rest of the week. We were later told the music could be heard from the suburb across the river. Guess that means we did a good job.

There was a night time light display kinda thing happening there as well. So here's a photo of some coloured trees. There was other things scattered about in the gardens that were also lit up.

Lastly, here's an iconic Aussie bin chicken that was roaming about.
Cluck buddy, distant relative of yours?

Guess i can post these.
Took these during a trip down the coast with some friends in January 2019 (i've previously posted some other photos from the same trip) One of the people in our group, it was his birthday while we were down there. So we all decided to go to a local club for dinner for the occasion. We then discovered that Australian band The Living End were going to be playing a show at the same club that night (some of you here may have heard of them..) So, dinner and a live show worked out well. I was using my old phone and sitting near the back of the room, so these were the 2 best photos i got, lol.

The guy on the double bass, he has a party trick where he stands and balances on the side of it while playing it. Here's a link to a photo of him doing it.

Ok.. this one has me stumped.. Javelin perhaps?
Yeah, Javelin FAW.9 XH897. The livery is from its duties with the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment where it was mostly used as a chase aircraft and for calibration duties, and contributed to the development of the Tornado and Concorde as a result. It was the last Javelin to fly, making it's final flight into Duxford in 1975.

Pretty rare aircraft these days, of 436 built only nine complete examples survive.

As a side note, the former Chief Test Pilot at Gloster, Bill Waterton wrote an excellent book on his time in the role, 'The Quick and the Dead', which covers, among other things, the rather troublesome development of the Javelin, and that time it nearly killed him.

Bit of an unexciting day at Lakenheath today, only saw one movement, this C-130J-30 Super Hercules, 08-5683 of the 37th Airlift Squadron, 86th Airlift Wing, based at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.

Fighter jockeys get all the attention but the real heroes are the ones landing these things on some way shorter and narrower than ideal improvised strip in the middle of...anywhere, often under fire. And then taking off again.

So i was busy working the band competition a few weeks back. Got some photos here that i took while it was quiet on stage. New venue this year, with a proper stage as well. And i was there early enough for sound check a few times, so there's some photos of a few bands too.

Our new drum kit, all sparkly and silver. I think the old kit got a viking funeral.. That imgpile logo must be new. They could've made it smaller, and maybe 50% transparent.

We used some new tech this year. Wireless comms headsets for the camera crew, and a wireless video transmitter system to get a video feed of the show to the guys on the lighting desk at the back of the hall, instead of running a long-ass cable. (like we used to do)
I was a bit unsure about them at first, as my work colleague and i have had mixed results with wireless tech in the past, but they worked quite well.

I've always been drawn to something called "Canon Rock". Someone created a standard backing track (Jerry C as he is known) using Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D. Each individual guitarist then plays their own version using that backing track. The guitarists are beyond amazing!

I've heard that tune before, but i can't say i've ever heard of Canon Rock.

The bands that play at our show, they're all high school students. And they all have to write and perform their own original material, it's part of the judging criteria. No covers allowed.

The backing track is standardized and used to showcase the amazing talent of regular, everyday guitarists who, have practiced and fine-tuned their own version of "Canon Rock". Some of the best posted versions are now 20 yrs old but they are all amazing.
Below is a sampling of some of my favorites...
